Climbing for Non-Climbers: Intro to Climbing

Schedule: Wednesdays 7pm-8pm for 4 weeks

December session: Nov. 28, Dec. 5, 12, & 19

January session: Jan 2, 9, 16, & 23

Program Fee: $100/month (preregistration required)

Want to give climbing a try but but not sure where to start? Monkey House Carbondale is for everyone, not just climbers, and even if you’ve never touched a climbing wall before we have everything you need to begin. Indoor bouldering requires no previous experience or knowledge and no ropes or harness to get tangled up in. It’s a full-body fitness exercise, a fun family activity, great cross-training for many other sports, and an extremely social activity. In this clinic we’ll show you how to use our facility and provide you with an basic technique and movement instruction to get you started moving around on the wall confidently on your own.

Climbing for Non-Climbers 2: Movement and Strength

Schedule: Mondays 7-8pm for 4 weeks

January Session: January 7, 14, 21, and 28th

Program fee: $100/session (preregistration required)

Now that you're beginning to feel comfortable moving around on the climbing wall, we'll help you improve your technique and understanding of climbing movement and begin to build fundamental strength and endurance. Like Climbing for Non-Climbers: Intro to Climbing, this class requires no previous experience and can be a great introduction to the sport, however this class also aims to provide introductory-level climbers with tools for improvement and advancement of their climbing skill.

Personal Training at Monkey House Carbondale

Whether you are new to the sport and interested in working with a coach to develop good habits and a strong base, an intermediate climber looking to improve specific skills or identify weaknesses, or an advanced climber training for a project, our coaches are here to share their experience and expertise with you. You will work one-on-one with your coach to identify goals, assess key performance factors such as stability, strength, power, flexibility, and endurance, and build a training and conditioning plan that fits you.

    During normal gym hours: $50/hr

    Outside of gym hours: $100/hr

Complete 1-Month Personal Training Package

Make the most of your training time through out comprehensive 1-month personal training package! Includes 1-month unlimited gym membership to Monkey House Carbondale, 2 1-hour training sessions with your personal coach, and most importantly, a complete and detailed month long training program written just for you based on an assessment by your coach and your climbing and fitness goals.

Functional Climbing Test


Functional Climbing Test

Climb better quicker with our state-of-the-art functional climbing test. Work with Monkey House Carbondale owner and manager Fabrizio Zangrilli to evaluate your climbing performance using a Y-Balance test and analysis of hang times, movement, flexibility, power, and endurance to create a baseline overview and help you identify specific weaknesses and develop personalized training goals and programs. Can also be included as part of a personal training program in which one of our coaches would help you evaluate your results and provide you with a professionally developed training plan to achieve your goals.
